Venus compatibility

When comparing charts it is important to look for similarities to see where things flow. When you have compatible Venus signs, it shows you may have similar taste, enjoy the same things, give or receive love the same or spending habits are compatible. There are many things when looking at Venus, the signs, aspects, and house placement. But as with any planet, there is not only the element it's in, but also the modality. The element is whether it is a fire, water or air sign. The modality is whether it is fixed, mutable or cardinal. Yes there is a lot that goes into astrology and especially astrological compatibility.

Incompatible Venus signs does not usually make or break a relationship, but it can just because of the irritation it may cause. If you have a Venus in Taurus and your partner has Venus in Aries, this can really cause some issues. They are in different elements and modalities so there will be issues. Venus in Taurus is slow but is sensual and likes to touch. They like routine, like to chill and love their money and nice things. Venus in Aries likes to be spontaneous, wants to do things especially if it's competitive, they are not chill, they will get things riled up quickly. They like to be assertive. As you can see, these are very different and will take some serious understanding and communication from both parties. The good thing about these signs are, they are next to each other so more than likely they each have planets in the other's Venus sign which could help. But immediately, they will need to understand that their love language will be different.

That was an easy one to understand but what about the ones who ares similar in element. Let's use Venus in Aries and Venus in Leo. They both will enjoy being active, they like to keep the spark going (although in different ways), they both want excitement, adventure and passion. So what's the problem? Well one likes passion quick and fast, the other wants it to last, sustaining it is important. Aries is a me-centered sign, they like to chase/conquest but they value independence. They like to keep things fresh and values spontaneity and taking the lead. They like a competition so they will make a bet or game out of anything. Leos are the kings and queens at least they think they are. They like the attention on them and want to make decisions. They sometimes think the world revolves around them but in their defense, they will make sure the world revolves around you as well. They just want your love. They don't want to chase but they don't mind being chased.

Aries would love to chase Leos but at some point Leos want to get to the love part of things, the mature part of the relationship, Aries can seem to want to stay in the beginning stages. This isn't really the case but this is how Leos can perceive it. Can you imagine two people getting together who are both kind of me centered? I say kind of because once Leos know they have your love they will reciprocate and will show, not so much with Aries. This why Astrology is an art. Can Leos deal with Aries who can seem selfish at times and will Aries get tired of doting on Leos? Aries won't understand why they need that because they will dote on themselves, they don't need validation. Leos thrive on that. So what's the solution?

Think about the signs that are 60 degrees away, the sextile sign. Leos may do well with a Venus in Libra because Libras want a relationship and togetherness. They are communicative so they will express their love. Aries may do great with Geminis because Geminis will keep them on their toes. Hell, they may be dealing with different people within the same person, Aries will thrive on not knowing who they may get today as long as it is in all fun and not moodiness.

Other Venus sign pairing:

Aries and Sag-both will like adventure, independence, directness, exploration
Virgo and Capricorn-both are practical, want the best, willing to do the work
Cancer and Taurus-both can be homebodies, sensual people, love to touch each other, food and home is comfort
Cancer and Pisces-they will be so wrapped up in each other. Pisces will romance the heck out of Cancer and Cancer will love and nurture any suffering from Pisces but be careful because this pairing may drown.
Scorpio and Capricorn-. They both are about their business, both will be slow to move, once they both love they will love and be loyal. They don't love easily but when they do they mean business.
Aquarius and Sag-the intellectual stimulation will be off the charts. Aquarius may get along with Geminis for this reason as well.

Because life is life and we are here to grow, most of the time we will meet people who are different than us. We will meet someone with a Venus square Venus or worse Venus inconjunct Venus. What you want to look for under these circumstances or even ones where you have the same element of Venus but still different love styles, see if you have the same planet aspecting your Venus', look for Sun conjunct/trine/sextile Venus, Sun conjunct/trine/sextile Mercury, Moon conjunct/trine/sextile and of course Sun conjunct/trine/sextile Moon. Even if they are not close in degree the sign placement will help, an aspect within orb would be ideal though.

For example, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have their Venus' square each other. However, they have Sun sextile Venus, Sun sextile Mercury, Sun sextile Moon and Moon sextile Venus. They are able to have harmony, understanding and friendship to combat their Venus square Venus. Their styles and love language will be different but they will and have seemed to overcome this.

You can do this with the other planets as well but this will be more challenging if your Moons are different. You cannot and should not take one aspect of a chart and make a determination. There are layers upon layers to look at and explore. But think about your current and past lovers and see what their Venus signs were and think about the positive and challenging aspects of that connection in regards to your love or dating styles.
